Tier 1 General - NEW FORM - Application after 6th April 09

Post by kkk.1111 » Tue Apr 14, 2009 3:19 pm

Hi Friends,

I am going to make an application in person on 5/5/09 and I do have a query.

In the new form, there is a section C9 which is about details of ICFN (Identity Card for Foreign Nationals). I don't have this card yet. Moreover, the instruction says:

C9. Please give details of the applicant’s Identity Card for Foreign Nationals. Please note for the application to be valid and complete the applicant’s current Identity Card for Foreign Nationals must be provided, unless it is not available for one of the reasons specified on the application form.

If it is compulsory, how can I get it? And what is Biometrics? Is it same?

Thanks in advance.

Regards

KK

Hi,

Please mind my ignorance. Are you applying for Tier 1 here, or talking about ILR.

Seeing your problem, i beleive its uk, cos i could not find anything like that in the indian version of the Tier 1 form.
Pls clarify, so that we can check further and fix your problem...

Hi again,

Yeah, I am applying from UK and at present, I am on PSW.

Does that mean you guys are bit quick in replying query of Indian version of form? Just kidding.

As per the instructions on UKBA website [ http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/manag ... s/#header3 ], it is clear that by 2015, the plan is to issue ICFN for the 90% of the non EEA nationals.

Is so, why they have mentioned as if it's compulsory???

:(

I don't know when UK govt will stop making blunders!

If it has not been issued to you, just put N/A. If you go down to the last pages of the application itself, it explains what ICGN is and who need to provide it.

Absolutely correct. UKBA still has to learn from its documentation mistakes. I had been penalised in my initial HSMP application post 6 Dec 2006, due to a guidance document error. Had to reapply with correct applicable documents, and got it.
In your case, N.A is the right way of saying it.
