engineers australia..details required

Post by AspireAussie » Thu Apr 16, 2009 8:07 pm

Hi group,

1. I am a Master grad from USA under Telecom network s engg. I am indian citizen. Looking at the Australia engineers assesment program under which category I shd put my proffession. ex Proffessional Engg, Enggneering technologists, Engineering associate or engineering manager? (proffessional engg looks more appropriate bcoz have 12 + 4 years education) but I am not 100% sure.
2. Anybody here applied to assess their skills to engineers australia?
What are most likely hurdles. Also both washington and Sydney accord are for undergraduated only and they mention explicit that post grad qualifications need not apply. Since my education backgrond is of a Graduate engineer
(masters called graduates and post grads for PHD) Should I start writing a CDR report for assessment
If thats the case ,for writing competency demonstration report, can anybody make suggestions/or advice.
Thanks in advance,

Hi
I am civil engr I just got positive assessment from Engineers Australia (EA) for my Bachelor's Degree. Like you I am an Indian Citizen but I have bachelor's degree from US. I applied under the washington accord under professional engr.

Sydney Accord is not applicable to you as you are overqualified for that.

Also a friend of my who is a civil engr (Indian bachelor's) applied to EA for skills assessment and got positive assessment as professional engr but he applied under the non recognized pathway i.e write CDR etc

The best bet is to contact EA via email and get a response before u apply.
Hope that helps

After more research on this I found that Washington accord also is for undergrad. I think I need to write a CDR. Thanks for your help.
