I have not seen Teejays' posting for sometime, Chess i want to ask, i was told two days ago tha my application would be assigned to a case worker this week. Today they are through with it (48 hours) does that mean they didn't need to send my documents to Abuja for comfirmation?
In my estimation i scored myself 75 points, does that mean they were satisfied with my documentation?

Papafaith,

Given the quick turnaround (48 hours) from allocation of caseworker to reaching a decision - I suspect that it is POSITIVE

Although dont start selling your house, belongings, etc. before you get the decision letter and EC....as we say in Africa, dont count the children before you get wives

My approval letter arrived with the documents yesterday (May 7). The letter was dated May 1, which was a Saturday... so maybe they are working weekends now... and postmarked May 4 (May 3 was a bank holiday in the UK).

Details of my application:
Sent application (Fed Ex): Feb 6
Home Office received application: Feb 9
Credit card charged: Feb 10
Approved date: May 1
Received approval and documents: May 7
Reference number: 1262x
Under 28 application
Nationality: US

Point breakdown:
Age - 5
Education - BSc 15 pts
Experience - 3 years graduate level 25 pts
Earnings - Band 2 35 pts
80 pts total

I've posted a redacted version of my cover letter here which includes references to all the supporting documentation I included. I included originals of all documents and one copy of each for good measure (although I think including the copy was unnecessary)

Congats to colleagues whose applications have been approved, wish you the best of luck in the EC and job hunt. I am still in the waiting room.
have a feeling that sometime next week it will happen, my 12th week of wait.

Keep up the spirit, it shortens the waiting time.

Nkosi..

it looks like things have sterted shaping up, she was called for a second interview with some company southwest of london. She has also registered for a postgrad marketing course, as a 'cover' to the Zim degree.

Dependent permit, decided put it on hold for now since all the original docs are with the HO, if they decide otherwise, wake up the next morning to ue for the dependent permit.

Yet to recieve my letter, having a problem with DHL, according to instruction of caseworker DHL was to contact her personnally and quote my ref before docs will be released. Because DHL was turned down in earlier cases they just assumed that they will not be allowed to pick up, and they kep quiet since the 5th of may, yet they took money from me, quite disgusting. The postal system in my country is horrible so asked caseworker to delay despatch by normal post to give me time to make a last minute alternative. DHL will have to refund me.
Has anyone gone through this?

Hi Floks!!!

I join the waiting game along with you all. Wonder if somebody is still maintaing the file LA Mike has created. Here are my details anyway.

Couriered my application on April 30, 2004 by DHL
Application reached Home Office on May 4, 2004 (as per DHL Records)
150 Pounds debited on Credit card on May 5, 2005
Sent a mail requesting a confirmation of receipt of the application and a reference no. on May 8, 2004
Received a reply from HSMP May 14, 2004
My reference no. is 01783*
As per the mail, they are currently working on applications received on February 16, 2004
As per mail, expected applicatin process time for me would be 11-12 weeks

Hope this helps.

Noddy.

I'd be happy to update my spreadsheet, just a couple of questions.

Was Feb 12 the date the application was received by the home office?

Do you know your reference number?
