Status of degrees awarded in year 2009 and MS deree from Pak

Hi all,
Could some one plz help me in 2 qusetions.
1- Status of MS degrees (18 yeas education) from pakistan bcz unfortunatly non of pakistani unv MS qualify by online calculator. Have some one get equivalnce from UK NARIC for tier1(G).
2- My second question is about degrees awarded in the year 2009 bcz ther is no 2009 in the award year list of online calculator.

1. If you have got your Degree listed in the PBS Calculator then you should be fine.

2. Do you have your degree awared in 2009? Its quite strange as 2009 has started only 4 months ago.

UKBA is considering only Phd from Pakistan's reputable institution and giving 35 points for it and they are not excepting any post graduate degree from pakistan.

hi,
thanks. it is quite strange that they are not considering MS degree. I have got BS(CS) in 2005 a 4 years becholar degree.
Along with my job i registred for MS (2years ,4 semester ) in 2007 in FAST National university isb one of reputed insitute. I will complete MS in may 2009.
If some have equivalance for Pakistani university MS degree from NARIC.
Plz i need help in this regard.

Yes, its quite odd. With the new rules no one from Pakistan would qualify for Tier-1 unless you have PHD which is quite rare. By the way, I am also from FASTics. You can always try other routes to UK or other countries.

try and apply for work holidays. may be u find a good job here and can get WP or Tier1.

Or apply for student visa and study again if u have time and patience..

I gone through this online calculator in quite detail. Most of US master degrees got big 0 even MIT, quite strange. What i analyze from this is that MS(course+research) will get 35 points or MS degrees which has same specialization as in Bacheolar degree. For example BS(computer science) and MS(computer science). it will not work in online calculator but may be get equivalence from UK NARIC. Right now we did not get MS degree but will get in may 2009 than will send to NARIC. After that exact picture will be cleared. If some has both these degrees they must go to NARIC, it will cost 40 pounds by post and will get Equi certificate in 10-15 days as posted on their web site.
I think will the passage of time abigities will be clear as ppls try for NARIC.

yup thats a real good idea. spend 40quids and get it equivalent. thats the only way out if u wanna apply for tier 1

two of my friends have fast master degree.. 4 yrs BS 2 yrs MS but NARIC only gave them bachelors(ordinary) first; upon their appeal that this is 6 yrs and how can they give bachelors(ord) they raised it to bachelors(hons) not even post grad ...

just get naric eqvlance and u will be fine
if ur qualification is not in calculator
get naric certificate and u will b fine

its not fine mate cuz NARIC is not making it equivalent to masters..

Adnan if u please send me the details of ur friends how got refuzal from NARIC. we should raise this issue in media and through official deptts in Isb like HEC to laison with NARIC. It would be greate job for Pakistan if we successed. thanks. waiting
