Waiting for extended check!!!!!

Hello, can anyone explain me please what extended check stands for? I rang home office today about my application status.They answered my application is waiting for extended check and they don't know how long will it take.

Yes it is in guidlines. but it didnt say anywhere, extended checks can take 6months. So just pray and wait for ur passport.

Yep u r rite mate. HO dont have any clear information about the timings but extended checks could lead to 6 months or more...

What exactly does extended check mean? What information are they seeking with extended check? :?:

Extended check consists of police verification,criminal checks, detailed check through college e.g. genuine students or not,submitted assignment or not, 75% minimum attendance and so on.But home office is neither convinced with the applicants nor college.And that is why the daying in the process.
