hsmp to tier 1 conversion

Post by inputsOnHSMP » Wed Apr 22, 2009 4:58 pm

Application sent 9th Mar 2009
Recd by HO 10
Payment deducted - 10th
ref letter dated 10th
status on 22 Apr , awaiting consideration.

it is a pain calling HO. The process of taking up applications does not seem to be entirely dependent on the date. I suppose they assign it immediately on receipt to a case worker and then depending on how things go with that case worker(like going for vacation, too many convoluted cases), it may take more time for some or less for some.

Same here man, application received by HO on 10th March and status as of today is 'under consideration'. By they way did they contact your employer?

WP to Tier 1 General

Post by ssm_73 » Tue Apr 28, 2009 11:54 am

WP to Tier 1 General:

App Sent - 23 March
Payment cleared & Acknowledgement (Ref no) - 26 March
Employer verification (call & email) - 23 April
Employer responded - 23 April
LTR approved (& with effect from) - 24 April (Friday)
Despatched by Sp Delivery - 27 April (Monday)
Received - 28 April

Tier 1 LTR issued for 3 years.

- Application was quite straight forward
- Urgent treatment requested on 20 April by Fax (on account of business travel)
- The assessing team seems reasonable in considering valid requests and processing promptly.

Stamped under wrong catergory - Tier1( Post study work)

Post by yvr1978 » Wed Apr 29, 2009 4:42 pm

HSMP to TIER 1 extension

Date sent : 23th March
Date HO rcvd : 24th
Money deducted : 25th
Letter from HO :27th

Visa and docs rcvd by me : 29th April
Visa stamped till 27th APR 2012

That's mine.

But they stamped like-- Tier1( Post study work). I am worried why they did this?
Approval letter from them says - Tier1 (General) under PBS.

Please let me know. How they stamped in ur Passport - is it like Tier1( Post study work) or Tier1 (General) LTR.

Thanks in Advance,

YVR

Hi YVR,

Good to know you had your visa extended! But obviously Tier1 (General) should be stamped on the passport. It shouldn't affect your status but it is better to phone HO up.

6 days total?! That has to be come some kind of record.

I noticed the UKBA website was updated today..
"During the week commencing 4 May 2009, we expect to be considering applications that were received on or before 28 March 2009."

My application went in on the 25/26 March, so hopefully it will be considered and approved this coming week.

Tier 1 Application

Post by kumar_dp » Wed May 06, 2009 10:12 am

Hello Folks,

I applied for Tier 1 recently. I am currently on wp. I do not have a masters degree and i reckon i have posted my application before the new rule was in place.

Application posted on 17th March
Acknowledment received on 18th March
Money deducted from bank on 19th March
Current status - Awaiting further Consideration since last 2 weeks.

I do not think my employment is being verified. What else if being verified ? I have surplus salary to qualify the points and all my documents are pretty straight forward.

Please help me understand the situation.

Cheers
Kumar

My acknowledgement of application letter from the Home Office was dated 27/03/09 - does anyone know what the next form of communication is? Will they send me another letter or an email to say it is 'under consideration' - or will the visa and approval (hopefully!) just turn up in the post?

I would guess you will get all your papers returned in 6 weeks with either the visa being accepted or not.

I was suprized just how easy it was to get..... I worried by self sick that I had done something wrong.
