NHS treatment on WP

Post by Visa_Novice » Fri May 01, 2009 9:28 am

Hi,
1) Are we entitled for Free NHS treatment even if our passport says no recourse to public funds ?
2) Do our visa needs to be valid for next 6 months before getting ourself registered ? When I registered my self to NHS my WP was valid for just 1 month(Though it has been extended two times for three month each after that) but I managed to register my self. Have I done something wrong ? Can HO create a problem in future for that ?
3) I also got my spouse (in UK on dependent visa) registered for NHS when her visa was valid for 1 month . She has got visa just one month before NHS registration. Is she also in trouble ?

Kindly give your suggestions...
Thanks

hi,

As per my understanding, as long as you pay National Insurance and tax, you're entitled to receive NHS treatment, its for everyone living in UK. Even tourist can get treatments if they have problems during their trip.

No resource to public funds mean you can't claim jobseekers allowance, houing allowance, etc.

but as always do your own research.

Guys feel free to correct me if i'm wrong anywhere in this post. :-)

Dude public funds are benifits...

We all pay NI so we are entitled for medical..

if u r here on residence visa except visit visa u are entitled for free NHS.. and your spouse is fine too...

more than 6 months visa means u should not be on Visitors visa which normally gets entry for 6 months....
