Claiming just dividend no salary

Post by xpscapable » Tue Mar 31, 2009 11:43 pm

Hi,

I operate through my own limited company. I just found out that my dividend is enough to cover my claims.

Because the salary component of my income is minimal, can I just claim on the basis of the dividend income? Without the salary?

Too much documentation to submit.

I figure the less documentation the better it would be.

Also because my payslip include both my salary AND expenses. I have to provide a spreadsheet to show the income & expenses. This is too complicated.

Well that might backfire and bite you in the mule
because the HO is accustomed to people taking a low salary and dividend through a ltd company
although it is completely legal to just take a dividend, they might get flustered if you dont'submit the salary with the dividend and explain it properly
so think it all through
not what is easier for you
but what would make the ho comfortably in approving you
