Hi Bon,

I applied 35 days before my leave expired. But I felt that I should have applied well before that. Safest way is to apply 2 months so that you still have window to reapply if result comes otherwise.

Hi Chetan,

Thanks for the response mate, Im thinking to apply through Public Enquiry Office just to quicken things as I hv to apply for my family(as they are in india nw) after I get my renewal done.

Do you think is it safe to apply 5-6 weeks before the current leave expires?

Guys pl post your thoughts.

Hi Bon,

It is perfectly fine to apply even 2 days as far as your application reach HO in time. The reason I said apply in advance is that, just in case if it got rejected you can reapply (without your visa being expired). Otherwise if you apply at the boundary of your current leave and in worst case if your application is turned down, so do not have much options left (other than to appeal). I have advised only considering the worst options.

In normal circumstances, if all your documents are in place and you have represented nicely in your application chances of rejected are very less. But since its HO, you should also plan for worst case scenario for mental peace.

Beside, are you applying for your family at later stage?

HSMP to TIER 1 Early extension approved

Post by visitkans » Fri Apr 24, 2009 3:36 pm

Got my extension yesterday.

Previous HSMP expiry - Jan 2010.

New Tier 1 approved till 16 Jan 2013

Applied on March 16th
Money deducted : March 17th
Letter received : March 18th

Passport stamped and received : April 23

Also they had sent a mail to my HR to confirm the following

The date's Mr xxxxxxxxx was employed with your company?
Mr xxxxxxxx earnings with your company between "the dates claimed"
The wage slips received are printed on ADP slips. Please confirm these were issued by your company.

Stamped under wrong category - Tier1(Post study work)

Post by yvr1978 » Wed Apr 29, 2009 4:44 pm

HSMP to TIER 1 extension

Date sent : 23th March
Date HO rcvd : 24th
Money deducted : 25th
Letter from HO :27th

Visa and docs rcvd by me : 29th April
Visa stamped till 27th APR 2012

That's mine.

But they stamped like-- Tier1( Post study work). I am worried why they did this?
Approval letter from them says - Tier1 (General) under PBS.

Please let me know. How they stamped in ur Passport - is it like Tier1( Post study work) or Tier1 (General) LTR.

Thanks in Advance,

YVR

Quick question regarding extension application.

Post by Saby26 » Thu Apr 30, 2009 12:23 am

Hi guys,

Anyone here got a clue how safe is it not to send the Degree certificate and rely on the evidence given in the initial HSMP application. As they now have an option for Evidence previousy provided in initial HSMP application, looks like we are not required to send the degree certificate anymore.

Has anyone had any problems doing this??

Thanks.

My Visa got extended

Post by PALTHURRAGHU » Thu Apr 30, 2009 11:52 am

Hi All,

I got my visa extension on 28-April-2009 and my TimeLines are as follows

Visa Application date : 09-March-2009
Visa received TO Home Office and confirmation date: 10-March-2009
Visa received FROM Home Office date : 28-April-2009

another good thing is I got my Initial visa from 21-March-2007 to 21-March-2009 (2 years), but I moved to London on 26-July-2007.When I applied for extension, I got my extension till 26-july-2012 rather than 21-March-2012.

Home office also enquired about me with my previous 2 employers(previous employer and current employer) such as 'did I work with them','For what dates','Could you confirm payslips' etc... So be aware that enquiry goes to the respective companies.

Saby26: Though it is mentioned in the application as not to send the Degree Certificate as evidence(since it is submitted in initial HSMP application), it is recommended to send it again and there is no harm in that.

All: I am getting married next month, could some one point me to the process of how to apply for my wife from India, details such as Application forms, evidence documents etc please.

Thanks,
Rag

I never sent along my degree as I had already proved that in the initial HSMP - hope there is no problem with that!

I didn't submit my degree. Will update about the result. I didn't see any need to re-submit my degree again. It clearly says in the guidance and application form that you don't need this.

But well who knows, I'll update on my extension result when I get it back soon hopefully.

Hi,

My case is little complicated and I really need advice from senior members in this forum.

I had come to Uk on wp from an indian employer however then I switched to hsmp. I did not inform my employer about my switch. i had in mind to look for a new job in the UK but due to some personal reasons I could not.

My indian employer returned me back to india when the project finished. However I have returned back to Uk after a month of stay in India as it is time for my hsmp renewal.

I have all the salry slips of salry paid in india and allowance slips of allowances paid in the UK - attested and signed by the employer. however the problem is that the allowance slip does not mention any tax deductions or NI contributions.

I am eligble for renewal considering both allowances and indian salary. will my allowances be considered in my previous earnings. This did not seem to be a problem unless I read in the forum that earnings over which tax is paid is only considered. Nothing such is mentioned in the gauidance notes.

I am not sure my company pays taxes over the allowances. I noticed in the p60 that there is only a small amount of tax is paid over the entire year and a large part is considered under tax free dispensation.

Could anyone suggest if they have had extensions considering allowance slips.

Will really appreciate any suggestions on how can i handle such situation.

Thanks

Query on previous earnings section

Post by rahultoraul » Thu May 07, 2009 9:56 pm

Hi,

I submitted my HSMp extension under Tier 1 application form already.
After submitting i realized that in earnings section in the application form ,
it is mentioned about the date range for which you are claiming the points,i entered the dates from 25- apr-2008 to 30th march 2009 (instead of 1 apr 2008 to 30th march 2009),
as i thought my salary debits on 25th of every month.

But I provided all payslips from April 2008 - april 2009, with p60 for year 2009, and bankstatements from april 2008 - april 2009
and even in cover letter i mention the period from April 2008 - april 2009 for earning period.( i claimed 30 points)

But in the application form , I mentioned 25th april as starting period,
as I thought it should be the salary covering period.

Could some one clarify whether this is a issue or do I need to some exaplantion letter to UKBA.

Thanks,

rahul

Hi,

I am filling up form for extension/transfer from HSMP to Tier-1. I have couple of queries while filling the form, and would appreciate your help.

1) Photographs - the recommend photo is without glasses???

2) B-10/11/12/13 - Home Office reference number, Previous worker reference number and Points based system reference number. Which numbers shall I fill-in, I was on WP in 2006, then HSMP in 2007. Looking from my previous applications, I had a reference number on my HSMP approval it has two numbers a) our ref and b) your ref. And the associated Leave to Remain approval had two more numbers a) work permit number, and b) your reference number.

So I am quite confused which reference numbers to fill in ???

3) D-4 - Reference number for Entry Clerance/visa. On my passport and my dependents passport, there are two numbers, a) VAF number and b) printed RED colour number

Not sure which number to fill in

4) On dependent's form, section 4 - Question H.5 - Is the main applicant making a initial or switching application or extension.

My thought was that it is an extension, but if I select Extension - I do not get asked for minimum funds £533 per month, I am taken to section-K, in whcih they never ask for dependants period of stay and £533 per month condition.

I will be grateful if people can share their understanding of the new form.

Thanks a lot.
