Student visa holder can register with Umbrella company?

Post by sheepherder » Fri May 08, 2009 4:55 pm

Hi there,

I am holding a student visa, i am working part time for a company. However, due to the policy changed at my company, they want me to work as seld-employed/ freelancer. Obviously it would in breach of student visa's contition. Someone suggested me to register with an umbrella company. I am wondering if Home Office would consider umbrella company as an employer?

On student visa you cannot work as self-employed or freelance. Check the conditions for student visa.

Umbrella company acts as an employer and saves you lots of headaches.
