I was suprized just how easy it was to get..... I worried by self sick that I had done something wrong.
So you had no communication at all between the application acknowledged letter and getting all your papers back?

I guess I just wait it out.. I'm hoping it is done this week like the website timeline suggests.

Processing times

Post by melimango » Wed May 06, 2009 9:49 pm

Hi, I haven't posted in here since I applied for HSMP, but here are my times in case it helps anyone:

HSMP to Tier 1 (General)
27/3/09: Sent via courier
31/3/09: Received confirmation letter
6/5/09: Received passport & documents back dated 1/5

Strangely it's leave to remain until 1/5/12, even though my old one ended on 1/6/09.

Great news!
Did you get any communication or updates between the 31/3 and 6/5? I'm on a very similar time scale to you, but I'm yet to hear anything since my confirmation letter on the 27/3.

They are waiting for additional information / verification from outside parties for example HMRC, Employer etc.

This is EXACTLY similar to my timeframe. Even, for me they are saying it is under further consideration. I have read in the forum, many people have received their visa'a even when their status is 'FC' .....maybe we should be receiving our approval as well very soon...lets see.. (fingers crossed!)

Post by tier_1 » Fri May 08, 2009 12:16 pm

Hello,
Could someone please let me know the link where I can track the status of my application.
Also, what is the process to request fast processing?
Thanks.

I just called the Home Office today and they could only say it was 'Under Consideration' - so I have no idea how much longer I will need to wait to find out.

Good news guys....i got my Tier 1 visa approved till May 2012.... it was under awaiting further consideration till 6th May and that is the date visa was stamped on passport.... So, maybe the status of 'Awaiting further Consideration' means some senior caseworker is going to review it and it would go for stamping after that.....

All the best to you all guys and thanks a lot once again for all the help....

Congrats destiniation_london. Is it a WP to Tier 1 Visa conversion or a new visa altogether?

Thanks Virgo...this were my timelines:

Application Sent : 24th March
Reached HO : 25th March
Fee deducted:27th March
Reference Letter received: 27th March (dated 26th March)
status as on 5th May (completion of 6 weeks) : Awaiting Further Consideration
status as on 6th May : Same...AFC
Status as on 7th May : Dispatched package
Approval received on 8th May with visa stamped till May 2012.. :)

I would ideally not trust on the status which Call center gives....i have seen cases where status was told to be AFC in the morning and people had received their passports in the evening....hopefully your approval too would be on the way...all the best mate!

Hi all....

Happy to tell you that I've got my passport back today.
Visa was approved on 8th May,09 valid till 8th May,2012.
One thing I learnt/experienced here was abt the status of the visa.

If any one has got his appln status changed from "Under Consideration" to "Under Further Consideration" again to "Under Consideration" that means visa is approved or already processed and you will get it in next couple of days.(refer my visa status above).

For those who are waiting, my best wishes are with them and advice them to keep best hopes alive wih patience.

Thanks boarders,
Extremely useful forum. Just reading the comments and views helped me so much. Got my tier 1 visa. Mine was WP to TIER 1 switch case.
My time-line,
25-march, application posted
30-march, letter from HO with reference
7-May, received visa stamped for me and dependent.
I did not do any communication with the HO as timelines discussed in this forum helped me calm my nerves.
regards,
sach

WP to Tier 1 Approved

Post by bizmuk » Sun May 10, 2009 9:28 pm

WP to Tier 1

Application Sent : 19th March
Reached HO : 20th March
Fee deducted:21th March
Reference Letter received: 23th March
Approval received on 7th May with visa stamped till May 2012

This forum has been a great help. This was my second application. The first time I had made mistakes in my application and hence was rejected. So with £750 lost I think I am well poised to share a few learning’s which may help new applicants.

1. If you are in doubt of your minimum maintenance eligibility due to multiple bank accounts, its better to take a letter from your bank stating that you have more than the required maintenance funds in your bank account
2. Past Earnings: Please be sure of your P60 as a piece of evidence. This can only be used if you use it in April as the evidence should show the past 12 months.
3. If you have an opportunity to find a friend who is also applying for the Tier1 visa, it can be a good to identify errors and mistakes.
4. Do not rely on the responses given by the customer service centre, they have misguided me in writing and on telephone, so read old posts and messages on this forum to validate your question/answer.

Thanks again for all those who have contributed to the forum and I will also participate in helping others.
