I applied for my wife's dependent visa from ahmd on 20th march but like others still the status is the same "You application is forwarded to British High commission".

can anyone who has applied in march and got reply can update the post to give idea about the timelines?

Thanks,

Pritesh.
I guess I should go for a long sleep, least 4 weeks if not more

My wife applied from ahmd VFS yesterday, she was told it only takes about 5-6 working days. Now I can see where that obvious 5-6 working days stand?

Applied - 6th April 2009
Status (Today) - Application fwd to BHC
What am I doing? - Keeping my fingers cross...

We have planned our travel for 8th April, assuming that it takes 5 or 10 working days at the max.
No further clues, just we are all waiting.
Anyone else in similar situation pls keep posting timelines and any updates.
Worldpeace,

Any news?... I too plan to apply soon from hyderabad, it will be really helpful if u can share the timings.

Status is still same , no progress.

Chennai VFS takes lot more time as compared to Delhi or Mumbai. I think all applications from the 4 VAC centres in the South Zones go to VFS Chennai.

Good luck to all.

Firstly look into the pbs dependant guidance notes.
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/worki ... ependants/

Thats where u will find all the information.

If you are apply from Hyderabad, no need for covering letters, as VFS will take care of that. A sample short list can be of the following format:

1. Maintenance Funds ( as u have Tier 1 extension, it will be £533 for your dependant for the last 3 months)

2. Bank Statements ( I think 6 months should be enough)
3. Payslips & P60 (if u have)
4. Proof of Accommodation(Rental agreement)
5. Residence proofs (optional), electricity bill/council bill/telephone bill
6. Marriage certificate
7. Marriage photographs(additional support)
8. Application Fee

I guess that is it, Guys, please add if something is missed..

Regards,

bon

Hi Bonvivz and worldpiece(sorry I dont know actual names),

From what you say, Documents required are

1.Maintenance Funds ( as I have Tier 1 extension, it will be £533 for mydependant for the last 3 months)
2. Bank Statements ( 6 months or more)
3. Payslips & P60 (optional)
4. Proof of Accommodation(Rental agreement)
5. Residence proofs (optional), electricity bill/council bill/telephone bill
6. Marriage certificate
7. Marriage photographs(additional support)
8. Application Fee

For 'Proof of Accomodation', Currently I took a 2 Bedroom house for rent and live with one of my friend, tenancy agreement is in name of both of us, will that be fine?

Also in the link http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/worki ... ependants/ , the application form looks to be referring for the dependants who are applying from UK, is this the same application form who apply from India ( outside UK).

Please advice as I need to do some ground work before I go to India.

Thanks in advance,
Rag

Rag,

Well, you can get it changed to only your name by requesting your letting agent / Landlord about it, they should be easily able to do it if you tell them it is for visa purposes.

I feel even if its on 2 people's name, its fine, as long as your name appears in it.

For my case I didnt provide an Accomodation proof even as its not mandatory, and also tyhe covering letter is not mandatory now since last 2 months.
Without these 2 things and any verification from my employer I got my dependents Visa

Tier 1 Dependent Visa applicatiion from Pune

Post by datastage152902 » Fri May 08, 2009 5:49 pm

Hi,
I have taken an appointment to VFS Pune , on 13th May to apply Tier1 Dependent visa for my dependents. I already have my Tier 1 approved in Nov 08.

I have following questions:
1.) Do I need to fill in seperate forms (VAF 10) for both of my dependents?
2.) The 'Main Applicant' stated in the Section 7 of VAF 10 form is Me (Already Tier1 Holder) right ?
3.) Is it worth taking a Premium service. ? Is it there in Mumbai/Delhi only ?
4.) My wife is staying with me in Pune, However her passport has my name endorsed as a husband and the address is in Ahmedabad in the Passport. Can she apply from Pune VFS ?
5.) Supporting Documentation and Cover Letter:
I am showing following supporting documentation
  • a.) My sons Passport and Birth Certificate (Issued in USA)
b.) My wife's passport, Marriage Certificate, Marriage Photos and Marriage Card
c.) Deputation Letter from my IT company showing that my Work Start Date in UK on 10th June 2009
d.) I have produced maintenance funds evidence from 3-4 sources.
Has anybody shown Source of maintenance funds that is not based in India. ? I have a US Bank account and planning to use it to apply for my son
e.) 4 page Cover Letter for points a. to d. & detailing about the sources of these funds for both of my dependents
Does VFS accept sealed envelopes? How do we carry this documents to VFS center in India? They have sent an email where one can carry a simple packet. Any tips on arranging these documents in Envelop or Folder?

Many Thanks in Advance

Does not matter as long as you have the required funds.
e.) 4 page Cover Letter for points a. to d. & detailing about the sources of these funds for both of my dependents
Good.

no sealed envelopes , they will ask for the documents required.
They will put them in their file.

Guys plz respond!

Post by bonvivz » Thu May 14, 2009 6:05 pm

Hi All,

I am due to apply for Tier 1/HSMP extension in the month of may and my visa expires on june last week(in country), my wife was with me on dependant visa until recently we have to visit india for emergency visit, my son was born in UK in november 2008 and has no visa(thought of applying visa for him during extension) and now hes in india. In order to apply for their dependant visa from india, I have the following questions:

1. Maintenance Funds:

Wife : is it £533(she was in country for more than 12 months) or £1600 for last 3 months while applying EC for her

Can you please confirm????

Son: I think its £1600 for last 3 months for him

Can you please confirm???

2. Rest of the documents as mentioned in the above post(bank statements/pay slipts/etc)

Also they will be applying after my extension, does the bank statement should show the maintenanace funds for me(i.e. £800) when my dependants apply for the visa?

your thoughts will really help me.
