Need urgent help

Post by hamid84 » Tue Apr 28, 2009 11:47 am

My wife is an international student and applied for visa extension in Jan 2009. One of her uncle is sponsoring her with in UK and provided his 3 months bank statements along covering letter saying, he is responsible for this course etc.

Now yesterday she received letter from case worker asking her to provide her own bank statements.

She has never worked so the statement isnt good at all.

She has to submit them by 5 May and i am so much upset. This is obvious that she MUST provide statements but what would happen after this?

Has anyone faces similer issue?

I would appreciate suggestions.

Godo question but No complicated answer here.

She was student and i was on asylum when we got married ( Could not register marriage due to my status ) using COA.

I received ILR in Nov 2008 and her visa was expiring in Jan 2009 so we had less time to apply for COA so i wanted to get the extension then register marriage, then FLR then ILR.

Did i make any sense? I am not in senses :( after this home office question.

@poster, I had similar experiencing when i applied for an extension of my study permit.I think basically what the case worker what to see or know by asking for your wife statement of account is if actually the supposed sponsorship is real. They usually believe if actually she is been sponsored, she should be able to show by means of her bank statement how much of fund she has access to over a period of time.
So,if your wife have a bank statement with a flow of transaction for sometime now,let her send it to them irrespective of the closing balance. All they are after is establishing that she has access to money.

Yes she does have bank account and statement but it wont give good impression at all especially statement of Jan.

She has never needed to put alot of money in her account as she lives with me.

I am so scared :( of any negative outcome.

Hope it's their standard practice. Yes the supposed sponsorship is truely real and gave his written statement saying as well.

Anyways, Im just praying.............. :x

No need to scared they just wanted to check is she worked and got more money than 20 hours wage so she never worked so no worries but tell her to work in future for under 20 hours.
Thanks,
JK

Hi,
In relation to the Certificates of approval for marriage (COA), there is no harm in registering the Marriage.
If the extension application was successful you can make in country marriage application, if it was refused ( hope not) you can make Human Right Application under article 8 depending on the circumstances of her case.
You also might be aware that on 9th April 2009 the UK Border Agency suspended the fee for Certificate of Approval applications.
