Starting a company on a Tier 1 (General)

Post by geezer » Wed May 20, 2009 2:38 pm

Dear All,
I am on a Tier 1 (General) visa, was wondering if I could start a private limited company and be the sole director? This means I could do jobs for clients.
Thank you all for your help.
Regards

Yes, no problem ..

You can even start a company without having a UK visa (you won't be able to work here though).
Good luck !

Not correct. There are many people who have extended their visa on dividends, its just that people didn't find or do not reply after they got approval/extension. We are all affraid of unknown.

My colleague has extended it on dividends. Its just that we need to get things straight and keep things simple (e.g. dividends, expenses etc.)
