Hi All,
I hold a 5 year work permit from 2007 onwards. Last month our Managing Director decided to employ me under another company.
My question is, would it be
1) a quite straight-forward "CHANGE OF EMPLOYMENT APPLICATION" to the home office to get the work permit modified,
or,
2) The new company and me has to go through the new Tier 2 route of obtaining a sponsering license etc?
Do you have any advice for me? i.e. Who best to talk to now? Do I need to act quick now?
Many Thanks in advance!

You would need to apply for a new work permit my understanding is its not a technical change since its a new company
And yes your right you would need to go through new Tier 2 route

If it is new company and there is no relation between your old company and new company then you need to go for new workpermit
If the new company acquired old company then it is a "techincal change",In this case also your new comp should inform the HO and apply for transfer of WP

Thanks magsi23 and mrnaidu for your advice.
Would you think that it will make a difference, if both company has the same MD, and they are in the same Address?

No, it will not make any difference.
Last month our Managing Director decided to employ me under another company.
If you have started work for a different employer (the other company) you are working illegally.

They are two different entities thats why according to your visa rules u cant change the entities without being prior authorisation from HO....
