Got Dependent Visa

Post by Hemant30 » Fri May 22, 2009 11:30 am

I have applied for dependent visa (my wife and kids) on 15 May Friday I got stamped on 18 May (Monday) and received in hand on 22 May (Friday).

I have applied from Mumbai and I am still in India.

Hope this will help for tracking those who are waiting.

Tx,

One more querry.
As main applicant has aleady has visa, Its not necessary to show 2800 for 3 month period. we need to show total 6000 ( self and 2 dependnets)GBP , ..However, 1600+1600 should be for 3 months period.

I have always disputed it. In this particular case the main applicant was not in UK at the time of applying for dependent's VISA (although he already had T-1 VISA). The spirit of the law/rule is they should have sufficient funds for maintenance when they arrive in UK - 2800 (main applicant)+1600*3 (3 dependents). If that were not the requirement, what will stop people from not using the same funds which were used for the main applicant? -defeating the sole purpose of having the maintenance fund requirement in the first place.

Yep agree... we need to show 2800(self)+1600+1600 ( Total 6000 GBP)dependnets. My query is, even though the main applicant already has visa , is this 2800 GBP should be kept for 3 months ( It need not be i guess) and of course 1600+1600 GBP shoud be for 3 months for the dependents.
pls suggest!!

Hi push_hsmp(Guru):

I have an question about maintainance fund. Let me explain my case.
Got Tier-1 visa on 14 Jan 09
Arrived in UK on 24 Apr 09 and write now in UK

Now I am planning to apply for depndent visa for my wife and son in Sep-09. For that, Shall i need to show 2800+1600+1600 or 800+1600+1600 or 1600+1600 pound as maintainance fund?

Trust i would get clear picture about maintainance fund then i would initiate procedure about it.

Again Thanks ...
Vijay

hello Vijay,

I am also planning to apply for dependent visa for my wife in a couple of months. I will be on my holidays in India during her application. Here is my understanding....

Since you are already in the UK i dont think u need to show 2800 GBP
so
..800(self)+1600*no.of dependents
..800(self)+533*no of dependents - if u were in UK for more than 2 years

U need 2800(self)+1600*no of dependents only if u already have ur Tier1 visa but have not been in the UK.

but I will still wait for advice from seniors.

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... policy.pdf

40. For example, the Tier 1 migrant has
been in the UK for 6 months and is making
an application at the same time as his/her
spouse and two children. He/she must show
that he/she has £1600 for his spouse and a
further £1600 for each child, in addition to
£800 required for his/her own support. In total
the family will require evidence that they hold
£5600 in available funds (£1600 x 3 = £4800
+ £800).

Please can anyone let me know how much is the VISA fees in total for 3 dependants ( Main applicant is having Tier1 General ) applying from India ?

I heard it is 50650 INR for each applicant. Does that mean i need to pay 151950 INR for 3 Dependants ?

Please confirm...Its quiet urgent.
