HSMP ILR (1 year as student)

Post by newtux » Tue Aug 23, 2005 2:44 pm

I have completed 3 years under the HSMP. However, I have been in the UK for 4 years as I spent my first year here in a full-time MSc.

Given it's a total of 4 years, can I already apply for ILR? Or should it be 4 years under the HSMP? Thanks a lot.

Regards,

newtux

Correct me if I'm wrong but you need to be here under a category conducting to settlement (Work Permit, Investor, HSMP) I think you would need to stay another year before the ILR as the initial year was not conducting to settlement...

Tro-one,

You are indeed correct.
Student status is not an avenue to ILR after 4 years, only counted towards 10 years legal residence ILR route.
