previous earning - Salary and tax calculation

Post by zhsmp » Tue Jun 02, 2009 10:54 am

Hi,
I am a contractar and i operate through my own limited company.
So i am showing that i am an employee and director of company.
I withdrawing a big salary. I have all following proofs.
1. salary slip on company headed letter signed and stamped by me.
2. Bank statement that net salary is paid to my account.

My question is.
Do i need to pay tax and NI before i submit hsmp application or i can submit the it at the end of the financial year.

Can Home office ask Inland revenue for tax calculation in case of doubt.
Or if they found that the tax has not been paid can they reject my application.
Or i am thinking too much.

Please advise.
Kind Regards

That is entirely upto you. Some people pay quaterly, some people pay annually.

No they should not be asking HMRC about it as you are applying as an "employee". What your employer(in this case you) does will not affect your application. If you don't pay NI+Tax HMRC will come after your company and not you.

It is good you are thinking. Thats why you are Highly Skilled :-)

1. salary slip on company headed letter signed and stamped by me.
2. Bank statement that net salary is paid to my account.
If i were you, I will also submit a letter from accountant stating the salary received for the specified period in the expected format.

This is just to cover the fact that your salary slip is on a company headed letter signed and stamped by yourself!

Always better to provide accountant's letter in such instance.

Cheers

My accountant can provide me formal salary slips.
What is the critria of formal salary slip.
The standard salary slips he has shown me doesnt have any contact information of employer. It only has employer name. How would the Homeoffice contact me in case of any queries.
Is better to send thsese types of salary slips(formal) or letter headed salary slips?

Kind Regards

Hi Chetan,
I saw your previous thread. You applied as employee(Director).
Could you please let me know what documents you submitted in addition to bank statement and pay slips.
People are suggestining diffrent ways like submit a letter from accountant or submit your company bank account statement.
Could you please let me know what you submitted.
I am not claiming dividend.

Kind Regards
