28days rule

Post by RAJ2007 » Mon Jun 01, 2009 12:36 am

My friend is going to complete 10yrs continuous residency in Seprt 2009. He has no gaps. He is going to apply for ILR.

Entered UK - 24th Sept 1999

He would like to apply in person on 28th Aug 2009.

Do you think it is ok for him to apply for on that day.

Since he entered UK - 24th Sept 1999, he can apply any day from 27th Aug 2009, so 28th Aug 2009 is absolutely fine. Has he already booked the appointment? and which PEO> I am currently trying to get a booking...any tips because it ia a nightmare to get through!!

lboro,

If I am not wrong 3rd July is not too early to book an appointment for 27th Aug, since it is more than 6 weeks to book an appointment in person.

The earliest you can apply 28 days before the end of your qualifying period (so basically 4years - 28days, 5yrs - 28days or 10yrs -28days depending on your category).

You book for an appointment upto 6 weeks in advance if you want to have your case assessed at the PEO such as Croydon, Sheffield etc. So the earliest you can call to book the appointment is [End of Qualifying Period - 28days - 6weeks]
