Sponsoring Wife parents

Post by wasiter » Mon Jun 08, 2009 2:17 pm

Hello there,

I just a need quick clarification in sponsoring my wife parents.

Iam british holding british passport.

I got married in last september and my wife is with me now. However, she is in 'WORKPERMIT' i.e i haven't transfered her VISA STATUS.

Now, in terms of sponsoring her parents... do i have to submit any documents other than the usual (british passport copy, tenancy agreement, utility bill, council tax, pay slips, bank st) like providing evidence about my marriage. i think i don't have to?

could someone clarify that part?

Also, he is PENSIONER in india does he have to submit any document from his side.

Thanks

OK, flew off the handle - sorry!

I'm stressed!

Seem to get a lot of Im-here-can-I-bring-my-parents-over-to-and-can-they-have-a-UK-pension-too type posts...

Sorry again.

Visitor visa is straightforward, just need plenty of of proof of reasons to return, otherwise the ECO's will assume as I did....

Not really necessary, as long as you explain in your sponsorship letter that he is infact your father in law. I think the application form also asks for the applicant to state his/her relationship with the sponsor. My husband and I sponsored my sister once, and I didn't need to prove that she was my sister. But I guess the fact that we have/had the same surname helped. :)
