Its good to hear Chennai VFS is processing Tier1 Dependant VISA much quicker.

I am applying dependant VISA for my wife and Kids on 15th Jun at Chennai VFS and I am travelling to India on 13th.

Can i accompany with my wife when she makes the application ?
Does VFS guys allow spouse of applicant to get in ?

Hi mohamed,

i dont think so they will let you in to accompany your wife..

but i was worried the same and my brother took his passport in his hand showing at the entry that he is also applying along with my wife which he was not applying actually.. and accompanied my wife and helped her with any queries.. if answers not known...

so you take your passport saying the same that your applying for visiting visa... better to try ...

Hi sabeekj,

do we have to notorise the passport copy. I remember someone doing some identity check through post office UK. Did u do any of those? How much did u show as evidence, 800+1600 or 800+533, Because I will be in india for my vaccation..when I am applying for my wife so I am not sure if I should show 1600+800...I am trying to furnish my rented house a bit so would like to know the amount so that I dnt spend too much...pls help

Hi

I didnt notorise any copy , i just gave them the photocopy of my passport..

about the maintenance fund.. if the main applicant is in uk for more than a year then i think its 800 + 533 for your dependant the more money you have on maintenance will make the visa officer more confident to get the dependant visa...

so i would suggest if you can maintain atleast 1500 pound to anything you can afford to will be comfortable...

Hi Sabeekj,

That is great news. My husband would be applying for Tier 1 dependent in the last week ok June, from Chennai. I hope it goes through quick as well.

Can you please share the sponsor letter format.

I have a couple of questions pls. Senior members as well, pls help.

1. Accomodation proof - I rent a room in someone else's property. private landlord - so there is no formal agreement. I am planning to get a letter from them stating that I live here and my husband will also be accomodated here. Is that ok?

2. Do I have to get a letter from my emplyer stating that I am currently working for them? I do have the payslips and my initial contract of employment. Will that be sufficient?

Thanks!

Good luck to all those who are awaiting.

Hi mghe,

Tx. :)

I booked almost 15 days prior to our application.
Are you using the correct email id for south booking ?
pls check in the VFS India site. I guess, they have changed the email ID.

Hi mghe,
If you got all your documents ready just pop into the VFS office as i heard from my bro there is no lots of applicants.. and im sure they will let you in to apply....except you have to wait for 1 hour extra.. to finish off the booked applicants..

Im not sure is it the same at all times ..
if your in a hurry you can give it a try as long as your completely ready with your application

hi sabeekj,

Thanks for the info ... I have some time left I am going to apply for my wife when i am going for vaccation in july/Aug . So I will try to get an appointment. Hopefully chennai VFS still has this pace :)...one quick qn.

there was a part in the form that said "accompanying main applicant" or "joining later"... I am already in uk so my wife applctn is separate...but since I am in india I am planning to bring her along with me if possible..So which options should I select?
pls advice.
