Will new changes affect extenstion under Tier1?

Post by anishpadela » Tue Jun 16, 2009 4:31 pm

Dear Friends,

I applied for Tier1 on 24th March 2009 and got the Tier 1 stamped valid from June 2009 till June 2012. I have Bachelor's degree as my highet education so I could get this done before new changes are applicable....now what will happen when I will apply for extension after 3 years of intial stay...will they consider same education points at the time of application or they will ask for Masters degree as minimum education...I am little confused....

One more point when I calculated my points under extension as if I am appling today on UKBA site, I was awarded 30 points for education which is enough for me to qualify....

Please clarify...

Since you have got visa on your current qualification i.e. bachelors, your bachelors will be considered at the time of extension.

Is this confirmed? I thought there was a deadline where only renewals before this date will be considered on the old points criteria... or is this for any Tier 1 renewals, where the original Tier 1 visa was issued before April 2009?

Don't think there is any deadline.

No such deadlines are in place at the moment.
