ILR SET(F) Benefits

hello,
my friends parents got ILR set(f) about 10 months ago,Now my friend has lost job,Can his parents claim state benefits i.e Housing and can the get pension as they are older than 65 years of age?

What was their status in the UK before getting the ILR, please advise.

So let me get this right..

Ur friend sponsored his parents as dependents and now he can't afford it?

I'd be most aggrieved if they could get a UK State Pension they've never contributed to - so I'm sure it's not possible with contributions.
