I have one Irish son getting child benefit will that affect my application for naturalisation? he's 2 years old

No It won't. Every Irish child under 18 years old entitle to child benefit. A lot of people receiving child benefit and still have their naturalization granted.

If one of the parents arent Irish the child isnt Irish. That loophole was closed.
