Dependent Visa and Maintenance Fund

Post by bhavin_IT » Sun Jun 28, 2009 3:42 am

Hello,

I moved from USA to UK on tier 1 visa in June. I got the job now which is
starting from 20th July.

My wife is working in USA and now she wants to join me on dependent visa.

Can some one please let me know the required documents checkilist?

For the maintenance fund requirement, I have maintained one of the USA account.
Will that work? or do I have to show UK account?

Thanks a lot,

Bhavin

Your US account is fine to prove maintenance funds.

Just be careful of the exchange rate requirement (i.e. know how the home office will calculate the exchange rate, as it may vary from what you might use, especially in these volatile times of currency exchange).

UKBA uses OANDA.com website. You too should use the same.

Answering your original question- All you need is your marriage certificate + maintenance funds.

Hello,

One more question...

I heard that i have to show pay stubs for latest few months along with the marriage certificate and maintenance fund.

My job is starting from 20th of July so i will now have any pay stub before August.

Can you please suggest me regarding this matter?

If you can also provide the documents check list, i would really appriciate it.

Thanks,
Bhavin.

There is no such requirement. Have a look at PBS dependant Guidlines and you will know. You can apply for your dependants even while you are unemployed - on T1-(General).

So even though I am in UK and starting my job from 20th July, 2009, My wife can apply for dependent visa from USA with following documents:

-Her passport
-A passport sized photo
-The Visa fee
-Biometric Detail
-Marriage Certificate
-My Joint account with my dad which is in INDIA ( which has been maintained as per the requirements)
-Copy of my passport showing valid UK visa

Does this look good?

Kindly let me know any more requirements.

Thanks,
Bhavin.

List looks okay. Also get a supportjng letter from bank regarding the funds avaiable in your account. This will support joint account with your dad.
Also submit copy of your house agreement in UK.
