HSMP Application "applied within UK"

Application sent through Royal Mail (from UK) - 06th August 05
Application received By Home Office - 09 Aug 05
Credit Card Charged - 09 Aug 05
Got Reference no. by royal post - 11th August 05
Decision Made - 06th Sept 05
Approval Letter & Originals received - 09th Sept 05 thru royal mail special delivery
My reference number - 048xxx

Points claimed:- Pretty simple
Age below 28 = 5 points
Past earnings = 25 points
Work experience = 35 points

Ofcourse granted for all my claims. I dont have any degree, so couldnt claim.

I cant beleive this. Thank GOD !!!!!!!! my prayers were listened.
Finally end to all my nerve cracking tensions from the day one to know about HSMP, its benefits/packages on +ve end and complications/implications, knowing about horrible experiences /rejections on negative end even for guys applied for 90 points etc ........faced by some of the guys in this highly valuable FORUM.
I think everyone has to be mentally prepared before applying for hsmp.
the worst part for me is getting reference letters from all my employers = becoz in India we dont have any such letters issued that too after resigning they damn care about us

Congrats itsme dear on making it finally,

would u share the format of ur reference letters on the basis of which they granted u marks for senior level experience? Would be grateful if u can attach a specimen or copy of the references. Is that possible. I beleive that would help many.

And then about EC, how much time they give, three months? From some posts I got the impression that one has to apply for entry clearance within six months - and not three months. What is the correct position.???

hi quite eager,
i have not claimed any points for specialist level exp.
"5 years work experience in a graduate level job" - in this section i claimed 25 points.

the ref. letter is on my company letter head to be signed by your manager or any other higher authority... and should include

your name/empl number/start , end date/your designation/
detailed job resp. ( in my case i included elaborate and used good key words which demonstrates my capabilities, and you can add some more from your CV too :) i composed the data and got it signed.

i suggest the same in ur case too, becoz mgmt wrote only 2,3 lines about my experience........which may not be valid/approved by homeoffice.....

also for my satisfaction entered some keywords like "this job requires graduate level exp and hhigh level of knowledge .... blah blah and a few appraisal words........

last but not the least it should have the land line number of the person who is signing.

hope this helps. ofcourse everyone has there own style of composing.....
ultimately HO has to approve. thats it. 8)

Sorry for my prevoius post...ignore them.
if you are under 28 you have below options...........

2 years work experience in a graduate level job - you do not have to have been a graduate at the time, but the job must be one that would usually require a graduate - 25 points4 years work experience in a graduate level job - 35 points4 years work experience in a graduate level job including senior or specialist level work experience for 1 year - 50 pointsNone of above - 0 points

I claimed my points under this category..

4 years work experience in a graduate level job - 35 points
