Basically you need to complete 5 years before applying for ILR right?
And your time starts getting counted when you make your first entry right?
So if you make you entry 2-3 months late that means your visa will be getting expired 2-3 months earlier. And you apply for extension right you get an extension for 2 years. (and you will be short by 2-3 months still)

Now what i would be interested to know is that can one apply for ILR 2-3 months earlier (before 5 years get completed)? OR would another extension be required to complete the 5 years requirement?

I havent gone into guidance notes for ILR or extension yet. So i might be wrong. Please guide if you know anything regarding this. Thanks.
You can apply 28 before expiry of your visa for ILR
and your counter for the ILR is start from day u made ur first entry to onward
if you are short by 2 or 3 months then u need another extension
which means atleast 750 in terms of money and plus additional stress as well
so it is advisable to travel at your earliest considering ur circumstance which varies from person to person

My understanding is that Visa is a permission to enter the country
and it should be specific ( Exact Date)

so if your visa start's from 10th August 2008 then you can not enter the country before that date

therefore plan you journey from 10th August 2009 to onward
otherwise you might not permitted to travel from both Pk and uk by the authorities

I hope u able to undstd the reason y i ask for specific date now

Good luck and have a safe journey

receipt letter

Post by corrtec_amir » Fri Jul 24, 2009 2:42 am

Dear @all,
as you know that visa officer refused my visa, I just discuss with my lawyer in uk about my case, he told me that we could appeal against my visa application but my refusal date is 29-april-2009 and I can appeal with in 28 days after receiving application date and I recived my application in 21 july 2009 but I don't have any prove therefore my lawyer advice me that you have to get an delivery letter from garrys then he will be able to submit my appeal in uk courts.

does any body have any idea about the delivery letter.

Any Approvals?

Post by scholarshk » Sat Aug 15, 2009 7:39 am

Hello Everyone,

Any one got his / her Entry clearance Visa stamped from Pakistan nowadays ?

My passport is stuck with them since 2.5 months.

I wish someone like IASUK takes action. Thinking of writing to the DAWN letter to the editor.

Esp. WHY THE HELL ARE THE TAKING SO LONG FOR SUCCESSFUL APPEAL APPLICANTS like me ! All the checks they had to do were before sending the call-in letter.

Everyone please state their time lines.

@scholarshk: they take at least 4-6 weeks to stamp PP, after appeal. Mine was returned because my medical was expired. But it was returned within 6 weeks.

I think you should email BHC or try calling them. WRitting in dawn isnt a bad idea :)

Hi,
@ theimmigrant,
i wonder did you get your passport back ? also i think you mean 4-6 months not weeks:) rt?

@Scholershk we have to wait, i visited Gerry on Thursday and my passport is not back yet. its so strange and just frustrating, don’t know why its like this.
IAS people also can’t do anything in this I think. Official time BHC announce after submitting passport in allowed case is 3 months. (that’s what IAS people say) but I know few people who are waiting their passport since march and April.
And I met a person in Gerry who got his passport back in a month. I don’t know what their criterion in this is. How they choose and what make them to delay!!!
Now a day’s no one is getting it back.
Any one any update?
I don’t think writing in dawn will be helpful as recently it was on BBC even that BHC Islamabad is take that much time and also reject genuine visa’s, but again no harm in writing :)

Kash
