Job situation in UK and Tier 1

Most members are suggesting that even if you have got a Tier 1 visa, you should not be leaving your current job outside UK, unless you find a suitable one in UK. It seems a wise opinion.

My concerns are, if someone could not find a job in three years of visa validity or most part of three years and continue working on the same job:

1. Can he extend tier 1 visa while staying outside UK or going there for a very short period?

2. Can he secure points on his income outside UK from his current job?
