Time to secure Permanent Residency?

Post by dipsy » Thu Sep 15, 2005 5:56 pm

Hi,

My HSMP application was approved yesterday. My status in UK has been as following:

April 2002 -- Arrived as Work permit dependant
June 2003 -- Got my own workpermit and spouse switched to dependant status

Sept 2005 -- My HSMP approved

Question: For the purpose of Permanent Residency application, when does my clock start to finish 4 years? April 2003 or June 2004?

Thanks

It would be April 2003 as a Work Permit falls under a category leading to settlement, of which you have to complete 4 years.

it's june 2004, As per the rules your time as a dependant is not counted towards catergory leading to settlement

but it also depends on the caseworker who is going to look at your application
