ILR (JR) HSMP extension application now considered for ILR

Post by Sekkappan » Wed Jul 01, 2009 8:31 am

Hello there,

I submitted my application for HSMP second extension on 02nd May 2009. My visa was to expire on 18th May and hence I could not wait for the implementation of the judgement on 20th May.

I received a letter from them on 08th June stating I can convert my application to ILR instead of extension and to do that submit Set (O) application which I did and sent back to them on 18th June.

I have not had my passports back and when I called up the call centre they say I must wait for 14 weeks from 18th June before I can call them for an update.

Has anyone who initially sent a postal extension application later converted it to ILR got your passport back? if yes what time frames did you get this in please?

I hope I can get my passports back in sooner than 14 weeks - any information will be must appreciated.

It's likely once you converted your application to ILR JR it is now in that queue and the turnaround times for normal ILR JR applications are also applicable to your case.

The good news: many people are now reporting a rather quick turnaround time of 3-5 weeks for ILR JR applications lodged recently.

Got my IRL (Hsmp extension application converted to ILR)

Post by Sekkappan » Fri Jul 03, 2009 12:01 pm

I just received my ILR today. The original extension application was sent on 2nd May, received a letter requesting to convert extension to ILR through Set (O) application form sent this back to them on 18th June and got my PR stamped on 30 June and passports received on 3rd July - that was quick. Looks like they do consider such appications were sitting in the queue before they are considered for ILR
