Dutch citizenship and Aruba

Post by jkeuning » Sun Jun 07, 2009 5:25 am

Hey all,

Does anyone know if Dutch nationals/citizens are considered citizens of Aruba? I know Aruba is a territory of the Netherlands, but would a Dutch citizen (not from Aruba) require a work permit/residency permit to live and work in Aruba?

I've seen a few websites that say Dutch nationals/citizens are considered by law Aruban citizens, but I just wanted to confirm this.

I've emailed DIMAS (Department of Integration Management and Admission of Foreigners) in Aruba for clarification, but I have not heard back from them.

Thanks for your input!!

As you probably speak Dutch you could start to visit the Arubahuis.
