Suggestions Needed Regarding Cognos Data warehouse Openings

Hi folks

I need your valuable suggestion regarding my future plan about my UK travel

Recently on 1st June I have got Titer 1(General) VISA

I have 4 + years of exp in Data warehouse Cognos technology

Please give your suggestions regarding some doubts which I have

1) When would it be better to come to UK?
2) How are the openings in Data Warehouse?
3) Do I have to learn any other technologies in order to fetch a job soon?

1. Not for the forseeable

2. Always some but see 1. above.

3. Experience counts in UK, a newly book-learned skill won't help.

Suggest u read the excellent and realistic posts in this very sub-forum.

I got a job in Oracle DW & BI field in March this year while still in India. All interviews were conducted over phone. Right now I have spent 2.5 months in my new job here in UK. I still see quite a few good openings in Oracle DW & BI field but I'm not sure about Cognos.

1. You can search in indeed.co.uk and register your CV in atleast 10 UK jobsites. It would be worthwhile to see how many search results you get in indeed.co.uk.

2. Build a good profile in linkedin and get some recommendations there preferable from US/Europe customers.

3. For CV template, visit iProfile.

4. There are few ways to get a UK number while in India which actually redirects to your Indian number, but make sure you mention your current location as India only on your CV.
