PEO for ILR under 10 yrs long residence is terminated

I heard that you can't apply ILR in person under the category of 10 yrs long residence - new rule since last week...Is any one has more information about this ?? has anyone tried to make appointment lately for this category??

I looked at the froms and have not seen anything to that effect.

I wouldnt go with everything i hear from the call centre. It could be that he was referring to the the persons personal circumstances. Also it could just be that the appointments were full so maybe the only option for the caller as far as the call centre operator was concerncened was to use the postal.

They normally update the forms if there is a change. They dont come up with new forms every month

Must be a rumour or a misunderstanding.

Cant find anything as of now to that effect.

There is only 1 appointment each day at every PEO to apply in person on the basis of 10 year rule. Based on this, i think the call centre person must have told there are no more appointments for the next 6 weeks.

Minny, that is a useful information, if it is only one appointment then it is hard to a slot and call centre might jst tell people that apply by post. How did you know that it is only one appointment per centre for 10 year rule??

This definitely needs clarification, i have read it somewhere else also that they are not giving same day appointments for 10yr LR.

I am going to try my self in few days so i guess will find out.

minny, when did u make your booking? because as far as it is concern, this supposely to be a new guideline has come to light since last week!!! I am sure magsi23 will give us latest update when making appointment soon (when exactly magsi23 are you going to call them?)

Which date do you want to book? (Is it exactly six weeks away from today or less?) If it is six weeks away then ring at 8.59am, if not picked up then redial until you get through.

Have the UKBA replied ur e-mail?

Hi Magsi23!

I have same situation like you. I am going to apply for 10 year long residence in August. I am not sure that should I hire a immigration lawyer or go through the PEO by myself. I will give details of my case:
1. 8 years student visa. In two of visas there are 5/6 days gap (not my mistake), I had SAR file to prove it.
2. 2 years HSMP , still valid un till November this year.
3. maximum time outside UK not more than 9 months (max 3 months stay)
4. working full time.

Can some body guide me is it safe to go to PEO or should I send a postal application? cause I had heard that on window case worker refused application even on small things...
If on window application is rejected, then what are my chances, can I send new aplication through post then?
What is time span nowadys for postal application?
Sorry for bombardment of questions but my problem is that if I send my application by post and if it will take more time then my visa will expire in November, I will be left with no option then...

There is no reason why you can not apply through PEO, I also have couple of small gaps of 5 and 11 days, however i got my SAR file as well to proove that application was submited on time so its not my fault.

Personally i am going to apply in person, You can do the same, just make sure you follow the guidelines and i am sure you should be fine.

I know someone had their application refused on same day service but got the ILR when they applied through the post because at PEO he could not proove the gaps were not his fault and he did not have the SAR at the time.

My work permit is Valid till March 2014 so i am not going to use any immigration lawyer but if your desperate and there is no other option than do it, it will cost you fortunes though around Â£1500 ish including the UKBA fees etc or may be slightly more

Right guys, I just booked an appointment for 21st Aug under 10 year LR and no questions asked. So it was a rumour they are still giving the appointments.
