Tier 1 Granted From Pakistan

Post by salloo » Tue Jul 07, 2009 12:51 pm

First of all thanks to this forum.

I have been granted T1G today. Following is the detail
Application date: 6/10/2009
Collection date: 7/7/2009
Valid From: 10/08/2009
Valid To: 10/08/2012

One confusion, the type of the visa is D - Tier 1 (General) Migrant. Is this right type? It looks like they have given me dependent visa whereas I am the principal applicant and no dependent was included in my application.

Do you think that this is different? Any other experts opinion on this will be appreciated.

Can I verify the meanings of this from VAC and how?

You can further see my case on the following link.

hello,
dear salloo ,could you plz tell me from which institute you got Master degree? Infect we are not sure abt pakistani Master degree. My wife has done MS(Cs) 2years from FAST and BS(CS) 4 years from AIOU. do you think NARIC will consider it Equivelent to UK Master. Rest of our case is quite complete , only Equivelence issue is remaining.....
Your guidence in this regard will be highly obliged.
Thnak you.

@akafridi
Few years back "COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Islamabad" offered "Master of Software Engineering" which was of 3 years in duration. This degree is also available in Point Based Calculator and even NARIC will recognize this as UK's Master.
But, unfortunately, this is not been offered any more. On the other side, This is absolutely right that even Masters of 2 years from any of the university in Pakistan is not UK's Master.

Best of Luck

AOA saloo,
Thank u ur reply. I have gone through the online calculator in detail now. The only engineering master degrees degree are equivelent to UK master degree and are been awarded 35 points even if these are of 2 year length. So it is confirmed now that Engineers with master degree from Pkistan are eligible to apply for tier1(G).
thank you for ur reply and many congrats from my side on geting T1(G)
What u recoment in our case? We will get degree and transcript tomorow from FAST islamabad, bt i thing it will be a simple MS(computer science0 degree. Should we send it to NARIC for equivalence?

@akafridi
I have noticed that even FAST's Masters (Non-Engineering) is not equivalent to UK's Masters. Please visit the following thread

NARIC Database Collection

Furthermore, if the Point based calculator is not awarding it as Masters then NARIC will also not award it as Masters level because the calculator is using the Database provided by NARIC. So sending your qualification to be assessed by NARIC will be waist of time and money.

AOA,
Thanks saloo for ur reply. I think i should try from HEC to get some equivalence letter like Master of com sc equivelent to Master of Software Eng. As IIU isb and number of other univerties offer Ms software Eng and all of them r equevelent to MPhil as per HEC rule. wat is ur opinion?
If i could have ur email address or contact # plz.
thanks again.

@akafridi
This sounds good but I am afraid this equivalence letter will not be considered by NARIC. As, NARIC only takes Transcript and Degree certificate.
Furthermore, You can always PM me, that will serve just like email.
