yes , the Passport dept is quite efficient. They do send back the original cert of naturalisation. Just make sure that you have taken a copy of it though before you send it.
And by the way the passport dept also need the long form birth cert. If you dont' have this make sure you send a birth cert affidavit , similar to the one you sent to the Dept of Justice for citizenship processing.

It's just frustrating to see people's total lack of manners and courtesy when it comes to using forums (combined with laziness). There's many threads about LTR, and you can always start a new one, why on earth would you post something completely irrelevant to a thread that is clearly not about LTR.
ashimashi, just to close this discussion and to stop wasting our and others' time: you're definitely more knowledgeable in forums and in this one in particularly and I wld love to learn from your expertise in forums. But talking about manners, courtesy, tact, politeness.. I'm sure those are words you have no clue whatsoever about them.
I'm very new to forums and the people I've dealt with so far were just lovely. I'd say the downside of being on forums is that sometimes we'll have to deal with someone like you of such a low-level.

sorry guys if I've offended anybody without knowing.

Hi Strongbow

Do you know anyone who has applied for passport with naturalisation cert + birth affidavit and have received their passport ?
Reason I'm asking this is because I didn't have my Birth Cert and sent birth affidavit with my naturalisation application.

BTW I'm still waiting for the good new like 99.99% of people on this fourm :)

I approached my local TDand it looks like they have a special e-mail address that they can use to get status updates. Interesting that when I rang the week before that they told me waiting for outside agencies but when I look at the reply that they sent to the TD it looks like it is at a more advanced stage. Also notice how I am called Mr. Ismael in the middle of the e-mail.

"Dear Deputy,

Thank you for quoting the Dept of Justice file
reference with the enquiry
as this helps to ensure the correct identif
ication of the persons mentioned
when searching for up to date data
.

I refer to your email dated 29/06/09 on behalf of Mr. Stols

Mr. Stols's Naturalisation application was received on 0
6/03/08. Processing
of Mr. Ismael's application is at an advanced stage
and the file will be
submitted to the Minister for a decision in the c
oming months.

Mr. Stol will be contacted as soon as a decision is
reached on the
application.

Finally There :)

Post by tiggs » Thu Jul 09, 2009 5:17 pm

Hi All,

After waiting for almost 3 years, my wait is over.

I got my letter of approval today.

Advice to other's in the same wait:
- keep Gnib stamps upto date and send photocopies of same to INIS
- send everything by registered post to INIS
- Calling often doesn't help.

Am one of 2006 batch of application.

Best of luck to others.

Regards
Tiggs

Called today, still waiting for Garda clearance, been there since September last. It's a joke, but somehow dont feel like funny.. When I started asking questions, the woman on the helpline just hung up on me. WTF :x At least something new and different from the ususal routine! I have made my mind, people, as soon as I hit the 23x2=46 months mark I go to the High Court, I swear by GOD, cant stand this anymore.. Waiting from March 2006, so will have to be this Christmas...

Congrats Tiggs, Hope4best..Atlast you got what you deserved. I am also one of the mid-2006 batch applicant and hope this is the last year of waiting...I think they should update their website and naturalisation form with the correct expected waiting time rather than putting people in the misery of waiting for ever for wFOA..
