Working abroad with UK HSMP Visa

Hi All

Hope you are doing good.

Can you work in abroad say Dubai or Australia (offcourse on their work permit) whilst still holding UK working permit.?? Say if i work there for couple of months then can I come back to UK & work on my current HSMP tier 1 visa??

YES.. you can come and work back in as long as your Work Visa in UK is Valid...

It should be fine.. only concern is the qualifying criteria for ILR (as of rules today) as you might have to go for one extra extn...

You shouldnt be away for more than 3 months at a time

My visa is valid till 2012 so that should not be a problem

Rules are
Not out of the country for more than 3 months
ILR extension? (Dont know what that means)

ILR Indefinte Leave to remain in the country (Residency permit) UK has some rules which you need to follow to obtain ILR.. like..

Out of the total 5years of contineus valid visa and working in UK..
1. You should not be out of UK for more 225days in this 5year period.. (there is a discussion that it is ok if u r on business trip n not on personal trip)
2. You shd not be out of uk more than 90days in a year
3. No for contineous 3months out of the country..
4. there are also some visa switching prohibitions like its ok to switch from Tier2 to T1 for continuity but not the other way... (pls check on this i am not sure..)
