Proving maintenance funds with overseas account

Post by t1guk » Thu Jul 23, 2009 5:24 am

Hello,

1) To prove Maintenance funds requirement, are bank statements from *overseas* accounts applicable? My bank account is currently in the US while I am applying from my home country. (I do not have a bank account of note in my home country)

Tier 1 general guidance, (Page 35) states for maintenance requirement:

"Only the following specified documents will be accepted as evidence of this requirement:
i) Statements covering three full consecutive months:
...
...

iv) regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) or, in the case of overseas accounts, the home regulator (official regulatory body for the country in which the institution operates and the funds are located) confirming funds:"

The note in iv) would result in a rejection, wouldn't it? Or is it i) OR iv)? Nowhere does it state that! For i), it seems that there is an implicit assumption that the bank account would in the same country from where the applicant is applying.

2) The document I am referring to is tier1generalguidance.pdf. However, as of today I cannot find that document (tier1generalguidance.pdf) on the UK BA site.

http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/howtoapply ... ralmigrant.

This link is dead: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... idance.pdf

Are they making changes to the PBS?

Thanks!
