British Citizenship with expired passport

Hi,

Does it matter if someone applies for British Citizenship with expire passport? My passport expired 3 months ago and now i am eligible to apply for BC. I am wondering if i have to renew my passport before i apply for BC?

I will be applying on the basis of 3 yr marriage visa.
---1yr student visa + 2 yrs on FLR(M) + 6 months on ILR

you can apply for your BC using your expired passport
