3 days gap in the visa

Post by nischerry » Wed Jul 29, 2009 7:23 am

Hi All,

This is my first posting in this forum, thanks for all the guys for providing the valuable information.

I actually got hsmp visa on 7th June 2007 till 7th June 2009, and i send for extension on 20th May 2009 and i got visa stamped till 7th June 2012.

But the question is "Date of Issue" in visa stamped as 10th June 2009.

As my visa expired on 7th June 2009 and date of issue is 10th June, 3 days difference will effect to my ILR ? or that wont effect my ILR. Please help on this ?

This won't be a problem as you have applied for extension from your side for extension. Don't worry about that.

Thanks Chetanojha,

Will please any one please let me know.

I came to UK on 14th Jan 2006 on WP and then WP extended again on 14th Jan 2007. I applied for hsmp in May 2007 and got hsmp from 7th June 2007 to 7th June 2009.

I travelled to india on 30 June 2007 official trip and landed back on 30th sep 2007.

My total absense after getting hsmp was

from 30th June 2007(travel date) to 30th Sep 2007(travel date) i.e total 91 days in that year 2007.

Please let me know whether i will be eligible to apply for ILR ?

No. you are allow total absense of 180 days in the 5 years. Out of which 90 days in the last year of qualification i.e. 5th year. As far as you are maintaining it, you are fine.

In my case the difference is 20 days. I called up UKBA to check and i was tols as long you have the ack letter that proves you have sent the application before the expiry of your visa you should be fine for ILR.... so dont worry!!

Yes, keep the acknowledgment letter in a safe place, it is proof that you applied before your visa expired.
