Hi, My Visa states Limited Leave to Remain - I had applied for extention under Tier 1, after 2yrs as HSMP. So, shouldn't it say Further Leave to Remain??
Details:
HSMP Entry clearance: Aug 07
Visa Expiry: Aug 09

Now visa extended until Aug 2012 but says
Type of Permit
Tier 1 General Migrant
Remarks
Limited leave to remain in the UK
No recourse to public funds.

Pls clarify.

But, Doesn't it supposed to say "Futher leave to remain", when I apply for extension?

I though LLR is given when you first enter UK?

Hello rsatish, I can understand ur concerns and in a way its justified. But, discussing this in a forum does not help anyone. Its an oppurtunisitic world, if anyone sees that they can get there extension well ahead of their visa expiry date, then most if them would attempt to secure it, to be safe.

hope this discussion ends here for good...

Cheers
rsathish wrote:Yes, I'm alright baldude, if not I wouldn't be making this point. You don't really seem to appreciate the fact.

I'm trying to prevent very early applications so that ppl like you & me are given sufficient time to sort out our visa first. You still haven't sorted out your papers yet.

Imagine the case, when your visa processing is held-up because CWs are busy handling applications expiring in Mar 2010?

Now, are you to blame for following HO's guidelines & posting your application 4 to 6 weeks in advance?
Or, are you very sure CWs will clear your application well before your Sep 1st week deadline?
Have you noticed the latest latest processing times? (the ones sent in last week of June & 1st week July)

Keep in mind, there are 1000s who watch this forum and many have started applying well in advance after seeing HO granting visas 7 months in advance.

Good luck.

secondly, did i say i already extended my visa? for your information my visa runs out in first week of september this year and i am yet to gather my docs.. now keep your concerns to yourself.

I think, as per official docs there are only 2 types of visa (in this section), since FEB 2008

a. Limited Leave to remain
b. Indefinite leave to remain

Received extension under Tier 1

Post by PRAMAD » Mon Aug 03, 2009 10:38 am

Hi,

I have received visa for extension of my stay under Tier 1(General), along with dependant visa extensions for my wife and child.I was on HSMP.

Documents posted on : 03/07/2009
Amount deducted from Bank for submitted cheques: 10/07/2009
Visa issued on : 30/07/2009
Visa name: Residence Permit
Type of Permit:Tier 1 (General) Migrant
Valid Until: 12/10/2012

My current visa expires on 12/10/2009.
Applied for extension 3 months in advance to expiry date.Received extension for 3 years from the date of expiry of current visa(not from the date of visa approval for extension). So no months are wasted even if applied in advance.

I have stated the following reason for early application:
"Currently, I dont have a job, and because my current visa is expiring shortly(12/10/2009), I am applying for the extension of my visa now, which is 3 months before expiry of my current visa.Once I get my visa extension, it will give me more flexibility and add more strength to my application in applying for permanent jobs as most of the permanent jobs require the applicant's visa validity to be atleast 6 months at the time of application"

Good luck and thanks for all the information.

Got Extension!

Post by hsmp07 » Sat Aug 08, 2009 4:04 pm

HSMP Extension under Tier 1 apporved

Document posted: 18th Jul 09
Visa Stamped: 06th Aug 09
Documents Recieved: 08th Aug 09

It took 3 weeks in total.

I had sent application for myself, spouse and child. Me and family's visa was expiring in Aug 09 (same date). I got the extension till Aug 2012. My spouse and child have also got the extension till Aug 2012, but their visa expires 10 days before mine. I was wondering if this will cause a problem in getting ILR.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Hi, 15 months means, if you apply now, the salaries you are claiming has to be earned between now and 12 May 2008. It doesn't matter if you went to school, went on holiday, had some sleep at home... If your company pays you say 40K in 2 months, and if this payment is made between May 2008 and Aug 2009, you can claim it... Simple as that.

yes even I could not believe.
when postmen delivered the parcel I thought oh my god! Has it come back?
because generally when something is wrong with the application it comes back this quick.
But when I looked inside. It was stamped with three years visa for me and my wife and son.

The delay was b'cos my wife's name was mis-spelled on the VISA stamping, and it seems that they had detected while checking. They had stamped a new VISA on the passport...that could be the reason...thanks for all members help...cheers
