Query regarding Tier-1 General Application form (Section3)

I am going to apply for Tier-1 (General) in person late next month.
Currently in process of understanding the application form.

I got HSMP visa stamped in Nov 2007 and entered UK Jan 2008.
Its going to expire end of Oct 2009.

I have a question regarding Section 3 (A) of the application form page 30:

It says:

A) Is the applicant making an application for:

An initial grant of leave to remain - go to question B)
(switching) under Tier 1 (General)

An extension of leave within Tier 1 - go to question C)
(General)

(This includes any in-country applicant whose last grant of leave was made under Tier 1 (General) or under one of the following categories: the Highly Skilled Migrant Programme (HSMP); the Self-Employed Lawyers Concession; the Writers, Composers and Artists provisions of the Immigration Rules.)

I am really confused. I would select first option since I am switching under Tier-1 General. While the second option has details in bracket which says 'in-country applicant whose last grant of leave was made under HSMP.

Please help!
