Application recieved by HO : 23th July 2009
Reference letter recieved : 29th July 2009
Application status: Approved
Docs Received Back: 14 August 2009.
Extended for Three Years.

8/08/09 I received a letter today which read

''Thank you for your application of 15 July 2009 for leave to remain in the United Kingdom under Tier 1 General
I would be grateful if you could submit two recent passport size photographs of yourself.
Your documents will be returned to you as soon as I receive these photographs.''

I sent the new passport photo on the same day.

14/08/2009 I received my documents with my application approved and Tier 1 visa.

I am a GP and presently in UK on a visitor visa for getting registration with GMC. Can I apply for tier 1 from UK itself or Should I go back and apply from India?

No you cannot apply from within UK. You must be on one of the visa categories mentioned in this link to apply from within UK.

Hello,

I have sent my Tier 1 General application on 01/08/09, after a month I have received a call from visa officer for requesting 2recent photograph on 01/09/09, sounds like positive because he told me that in my older visas I have used same photos. However after sending photographs, I havenâ€™t received any reply from HO till the date. I called to public enquiry office and they advised me to write a litter to visa officer, which I did & again attached photographs & sent to HO on 14/09/09.

As per new rules HO customer call centre can not tell us anything before 14 weeks, I donâ€™t know what I can do in this situation as visa officer has considered my application but no reply from HO now.

Acknowledgement received 05/08/09
Call on Mob from Visa Officer 01/09/09
Photo sent by spcl delivery: 02/09/09 (no reply till 2 weeks)

what is ur current visa status.. HSMP or WP??

As per the waiting time on the UKBA it says...
During the week commencing 14 September 2009, we expect to be considering applications that were received on or before 24 August 2009.
ur 6weeks completed start of this week and i think u shd give a try again to ask for the status.. who knows they may give some status.. just tell the date your sent in ur application 1st/3rd of Aug??? goodluck

I am on PSW, which is going to be expiring in Marchâ€™2011 & last month I have applied for tier 1 general.

Today also I called them & got same answer (They canâ€™t tell us anything before 14weeks) I also asked her, meanwhile if royal mail will lost our documents still you people can not able to tell us anything ----- and she said â€“ NO (how rude she is!!!!!)

Urana: if they mentioned for ur application the rule is that they can not tell status till 14weeks than you have to wait till that time.. dont worry abt the documents..

You sent them arnd 3rd aug and they came back asking for ur photos means they have ur docs with them and pls keep the records of the RM SD of photos sent as a proof for worst case scenario to defend urselves.. but i think everything will be ok for you..

as chetan says.. dont loose ur sleep over this.. u did u job n now its their job n give them their 14weeks to come back with status.. dont worry why other applicants results come back in 4-5-8weeks each application. caseworker, situaations are different.. goodluck
