Health Requirements For Australia

Post by shinwari » Thu Aug 20, 2009 2:47 pm

hello everyone,
This site has been very helpful for me throughout the time,
now could please anyone help me in this matter,
my brother is applying for Australian immigration under independent skilled worker category i.e 175 prv but he has to go through certain health requirements after submitting his application and the problem is that his hepatitis B surface antigen is positive i.e he is carrier of chronic hepatitis B, so my question is would the embassy refused his application due to this problem or not? Should he submit the application or not?
i will be waiting for an early reply
Thanks in advance

It is not automatic that his visa will be refused.

It is only for Tuberculosis that a visa is automatically refused pending treatments and a subsequent negative diagnosis.

His case will be assessed according to Australia Public Health criteria.

If his application is not for a career in the Health Service, he will stand a better chance of securing his visa.

With Hepatitis B, there is a likelihood that his prognosis would have changed in say about six months. Therefore he could be asked to retake another test in 6 months.

Treated TB

Post by Kavik » Sat Sep 19, 2009 6:02 am

Hi,

We are planning to apply for Australia skilled migrants visa. I was diagnosed for abdominal TB(non-transferable) in 2008. I completed my treatment in Apr 2009 and now I am clear of it.

Do I still get any problem in my visa process?

Thanks
