Tier 1 Switch From Dependant Visa

Post by sgbajwa » Sat Aug 22, 2009 10:58 pm

Hi All

I searched on Google and found this forum. I am sure you guys can give answers to my questions.

I’m an Indian in the UK on a dependant visa as my wife is on a student visa. I have been advised that I need to go to my home country to switch my visa. I’m planning to go to India on 31st Aug and will submit my application on 1st Sep.

Earning Points : Can I claim points for 12 months earning between 1st Jul08 to 30th Jun09? I have worked three jobs in this time period. I will be submitting bank statements and Pay slips for all these earnings. I was getting paid by weekly cheque in one of the job. Do I have to get any letter from the employer stating that I was getting paid by cheque?

Language Points : I did my MBA from Napier University. Would I able to get points for language if I submit my degree?

Age Points : I don’t have any birth certificate however I will submit passport and Full UK driving licence. Will it be enough to claim for age points.

As I said, my wife is on a student visa and I am on a dependant visa. Do I have to submit my wife’s letter from the University stating that she has been studying? Please note that I am not going to apply for my wife’s visa at the same time.

I am going to India for a month. I hope I will get my passport back within a month as I couldn’t get holidays for more than a month. Does anybody know the time scale of Tier1 general visa from Delhi, India?

Thanks for your reply in advance.

If the amount in payslips matches with the amount in bank statememt, you are fine.If you can get letter from employer regarding weekly pay, it would be good too

Language Points : I did my MBA from Napier University. Would I able to get points for language if I submit my degree? If PBS recognise your degree and award you points of it(english language) than you are fine with only Degree Certificate.

Age Points : I don’t have any birth certificate however I will submit passport and Full UK driving licence. Will it be enough to claim for age points. Passport is enough. If you have UK license that is fine too.But i think only passport is required.

Does anybody know the time scale of Tier1 general visa from Delhi, India? Depends on BHC workload. Guess it should be between 3-6 weeks.Check timelines in this forum to get a trend.
