ILR PEO SHeffield Passport cancelation

I got PEO appointment in sheffield on 5th of October for ILR 4 year..

My resident permit/VISA in on OLd passport which is expiring on 26 October .

I have already got my new and is attched with the old one#

my question is..

as at 5th october my old passport will be still valid and visa stckier is on the old one..

homeoffice can ask me to cancel the passport or anyother issue due to this.

I have read in one of the post that they were directed to cancel the passport and than apply ..........or ILR stikcer will be put on the old Passport?

also i am from INDIA do i need to attach Police registration certificate?

looks like duplicate post.... well you dont need police reg. certificate.
Also when new pasport is issued the Indian embassy will stamp CANCELLED on old passport apart from slightly cutting the front page of passport ( on right side...)
