Tier 1 General Approved

Post by chidol4u » Mon Aug 17, 2009 6:09 pm

Application Posted on 14th July
Application Received on 15th July
Confirmation Letter Received on 17th July
8/08/09 I received a letter today which read

''Thank you for your application of 15 July 2009 for leave to remain in the United Kingdom under Tier 1 General
I would be grateful if you could submit two recent passport size photographs of yourself.
Your documents will be returned to you as soon as I receive these photographs.''

I sent the new passport photo on the same day.

14/08/2009 I received my documents with my application approved and Tier 1 visa.

this is interesting...why they are asking for your recent passport photos. Did you sent them at the time of application?

May be the original photographs submitted with the application did not meet the UKBA criteria.

Is there a pattern here that if :-

1. If the applicant has sufficient Leave to remain then reject app (because of the photos)
2. If the applicant's leave has expired, then ask for photos.

Depends on case worker, my guess.

Can you explain how did you sent the photo again?

Any covering letter sent with the photo
Which Address (post or courier)

Consider yourself very very very lucky that you got a decent case officer. Most case officers would have rejected the same.

I sent the new passport photo on the same day.
Which mailing address did you send the given photo?

By post or courier?

Your reply will be highly appreciated.

Have you read your ackn. letter ?

It clearly says, "Do not send anything untill asked for."

Or you can send it to the address where you posted your app. But please stop getting worried about your photos all over this forum.

I didn't send the passport until they asked for it.The problem was that this is the same passport I've been using for the past 5 years.I have too many of them so I just use them whenever I need a passport. Most of the UK visas I've been granted have this same passport on so it was easy for them to tell it was a really old one.
Thinking about the trend, yes,my visa had run out.I submitted two days b4 my visa ran out so it might be correct that there's a trend there. However,I consider myself lucky as I should have been rejected under normal circumstances.I thank God!!!
