Post by humble1 » Sun Aug 30, 2009 6:11 pm

hi

just wonderng what to do. My wife came here in july 2006 on a spouse visa on her previouse marriage , after 2 years she was given further leave to remain, then we got married in december 2007. it will be 2 years in dec 2009. her visa expires in feb 2010. so what shall i apply for? ILR or citizenship, because although she has been here more tan 3 years, we will have been togethrer only 2 and a bt.

will be gratefull for some advice.

She has to apply for ILR first - you can't apply for British citizenship unless you have ILR.

Once she has ILR she can apply for British citizenship straightaway.
