Experiences in finding jobs

Hi!

I am about to file my documents for immigration and was just wondering how long it would take to find a job there if my application was approved. I am thinking of applying for my family along with myself, but I'm concerned that if I don't find a job then I might actually be wasting a lot of money in the process. So I thought this would be an interesting place to find out people's experiences in finding a job.

Also, any idea how long it would take for my family's application if I were to leave them behind and apply for them in Canada?
