EEA FP ISSUED surinder singh MADRID

Post by crukleeds » Wed Sep 02, 2009 6:04 pm

Hey guys,

Just wanted to give a bit of information regarding EEA FP for surinder singh cases,

We visited the British embassy in madrid last week for an EEA FP for my same-sex partner who is from South America. I am a british national however been resident and working here for nearly 2 years. Also just to give information regarding treaty rights.

The embassy expects you to take your "vida laboral" which is proof of working in spain. They will accept other evidence however it must be extensive without your vida laboral.

The permit was issued fast. As we was made aware the Embassy is speeding up applications because there were so many complaints. We live away from the mainland so we had to fly to Madrid.
They also need a marriage certificate and will not accept "libro de familia" (same-sex marriage is legal here and changes to civil partnership in UK)
They also need proof of living together. The prefered method is your certificate of convivencia, which is legal proof of living together in spain.

Good luck to anyone who has to play with the UK stuff because its dam right hard work lol.

The UK national is also not permitted to enter the embassy during the process of application. MAD!!!!!!

That is a positive news, because the UK usually make things extremely difficult for Extended family members, as they refer to (Article 3(2)) family members.

You must be overwhelmed. All the best for the future.

yeah deff am,

however it did take about 50 pages of evidence hahaha. I feeling is that its best to just take everything you have to basically answer any questions they may ask when reviewing your application.

Plus my letter was 3 pages long, i also explained why we have applied the EEA route and not the UK route. I think this could of helped so they have all the info infront of them without having to ask more through interview. The actual permit was issued the day after our appointment so its really good news but next stop is EEA2 not sure about the process of that one....
