******* Dependent application form

Post by Tier1Dep » Wed Sep 02, 2009 9:30 am

I apologise for the duplicate post

I am looking for a expert opinion(as one suggested in the previous post) and we are submitting the application tommorrow.

Hi

I am applying for Tier 1 Dependent visa(VAF 10)partner.
My partner had applied for Tier 1 visa(independently) and was returned as INVALID (not rejected) as one of the mandatory field was not filled. The application fee was also refunded.

While completing the application, I am a confused for the following question in the application

6.2 Have you ever been refused a visa for any country including UK?
YES NO
If yes
Ans: Date Country Reason Reference number

6.4 Have you been granted a visa for the UK in the last 10 years?
Answer ‘Yes / No’
If ‘Yes’ please provide details below
Please enter the reference number if you know it. You can find this on the previous vignette (visa) in your passport. The number format is as follows: 123456X. You should enter the details whether you used the visa or not.

( i dont see the number format in the passport)

Since my partner was not refused (returned as invalid) should I tick NO.

Please advise

Thank you

the guide states that

6.3 Have you ever been refused a visa for any country including the UK?
Answer ‘Yes / No’
If ‘Yes’ please provide details below
If you were refused a visa for the UK please enter either your Home Office reference number which is prefixed with the first letter of your family name, for example Smith = S12345 or your visa reference number in the following format XXX/123456 (the XXX is the country or post location abbreviation, for example New York is NYC).

>>
I checked the letter that we received the "our reference" starts with PB and that is not the applicants name..(it should be K)

SO are you indicating that that is NOT a refusal. Please advise.

Many thanks

Reference number they are asking for visa. You can find it on the right corner of your visa.

Hope that helps.

Sorry, I did not read this part first.

You should say NO, and use space TO EXPLAIN about your case of return as invalid where they ask, Is there any other information you wish to give in support of your application? (Part 8.)

I think that should be fine. Someone I know used same place to explain a similar case. It should not be a problem. Good luck.

Please ans this also

6.8 Have you made an application to the Home Office to remain in the UK in the last 10 years?
Answer ‘Yes / No’
If ‘Yes’ please provide details below
This is when you have been to the UK previously and made a formal application to extend your conditions of stay for whatever reason. You should also say if you have applied to extend your stay but left the UK before receiving a reply. Please give the reason for the application and why you were refused, if applicable, in the box provided. You must enter your Home Office reference number which is prefixed with the first letter of your family name, for example Smith = S12345.

I should write for Tier 1 here but here is only two option granted OR refused????

It would be NO, if your dependent has never applied and refused for extension in UK.

The main applicant was never invalid or rejected.

The problem is that dependent's application was returned invalid.
I am filling the form for my partner.

Many thanks

So it means "NO". Your explaination in part 8 would be enough to clear any doubts related with returned as invalid.
